AZ Catfish Conservation Association Catfish Tagging Program 2016

AZSFWC funded a grant application in the amount of $1000 for catfish conservation. The funding will provide important conservation dollars to survey the Flathead and Channel Catfish populations in Lake Pleasant and Bartlett Lake. With each tag, critical data is recorded to study growth rate, overall health and population concentration.

AZ Shooting Sports Education Foundation Clay Target Program Shooting Vests – 2015

AZSFWC once again assisted with the purchase of vest for the youth target shooting program sponored by the AZ Shooting Sports Education Foundation. Funding was provide by the License Plate Grant as well as the remaining funds raised during our 2013 Midway Rifle Raffle were used to fund a raffle for the participants.

Youth Shooting Event January 2015

AZSFWC assisted the Arizona Game and Fish Department with its 5th annual Youth Target Shooting Event on January 17th at the Wickenburg Sportsmen’s Club. The event provided a chance for young sportsmen to handle and shoot a variety of weapons, ranging from air guns and archery, to rifles and shotguns. Funds raised during our 2013 Midway Rifle Raffle were used to fund a raffle for the participants. Read more about this event HERE.

Bar Triangle Ranch Fence Project March 2014

The AZSFWC assisted the AZ Game & Fish with a project on the Bar Triangle Ranch near Prescott on March 22, 2014. This fence project involved removal of woven wire fencing and various modifications necessary to convert to a barbed wire fence with a smooth bottom wire at 18 inches height. The fences are along a ranch road in flat, open country, prime habitat for pronghorn antelope.

AZSFWC Participates in Midway Rifle Raffle to Benefit Youth Shooting Activities 2013

AZSFWC received a donation of 4 rifles from Midway USA, which were placed in a public raffle in 2013. A total of $9640 was raised from the raffle of the rifles. Midway USA required 50% of those funds, or $4820, be returned to them for youth shooting activities. They in turn donated the funds to school shooting programs chosen by AZSFWC. Kaibab Wildlife Habitat Project

This project is the result of a joint funding effort involving two key partners, the National Forest Foundation and the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Thank you for your support and help for making this project a reality. While the primary focus of this project was to provide better habitat for the prized Kaibab mule deer herd, other species will also benefit from the improvement in habitat on the winter range. See complete report HERE.
